GrandMasterPixel
GrandMasterPixel for Android
GrandMasterPixel is a new game for the Android mobile platform. Essentially, it’s a low-res social pixelart competition, with light combat RPG elements. It’s designed as a casual game that you can pick up and play for about 10 mins every day to stimulate your creative juices while waiting for a bus, train or plane (or maybe sitting on the loo – who am I to dictate where you play it !?!)

The game is currently in ’some kinda alpha testing’. If you have an Android phone (or know how to use the Android emulator), you can download the current version and check it out (or use the Barcode Scanner on your phone to scan the barcode below):

If you aren’t one of the lucky people to own an Android device, you can still help test the game by running it in an Android emulator on Linux, OS X or Windows. I’ve prepared an emulator package with GrandMasterPixel pre-installed – keep in mind the download is a little hefty (and is ~ 200 Mb unzipped). Still, it will save you wrestling with Eclipse and the Android SDK. It’s also not quite the same as holding the game in the palm of your hand …

To run the emulator, unzip the archive, run the run_emulator.* script appropriate to your platform (you may need to make the script executable first).
You can read more about the development on the blog (under category ‘grandmasterpixel’).
